Salt Lake 1 (ANA - 3), Tacoma 6
BEES. They are everywhere. LHP Luke French (1.44, W), managed, in spite of BEES, giving up a run on four hits, two walks, and five Ks through six and two-thirds innings. He had a 1/12 G/F though. I don’t know what to say. RHP Brian Sweeney (5.06) had a hit and three Ks through the next inning and a third, and RHP Levale Speigner (4.50) struck out one in the ninth.
2B Chris Woodward (HR, 2 R, .286) had his second home run as one of two hits, and added a walk on top of that. 3B Jack Hannahan (2 RBI, .278), 1B Mike Carp (2B, R, .254), and C Eliezer Alfonzo (R, .233) all reached twice via a hit and a walk, and SS Josh Wilson (2B, .345) doubled.

West Tenn 6, Mobile 2 (ARI - 2)
RHP Dan Cortes (7.36, W) had an outing, to be certain. On one hand, he walked three through five innings and let two runs score, but on the other, he allowed one hit and struck out five, while recording a 9/1 ground/fly. I’m pleased. I think? LHP Robert Rohrbaugh (1.54) pitched the next inning and a two-thirds, allowing two hits and a walk while striking out two, then RHP Anthony Varvaro (4.05) had a hit, a walk, and a K through the eighth. In the ninth, LHP Edward Paredes (3.86) allowed two hits and struck out the side.
For the offense, things came in twos generally. CF Kuo-hui Lo (HR, .216), DH Carlos Peguero (HR, .382), RF Mike Wilson (A, .296), C Guillermo Quiroz (2B, R, RBI, .370), and 1B Johan Limonta (2 2B, R, RBI, .250) all had two hits, with Wilson adding a walk, and SS Carlos Triunfel (HR, E, .233) added a home run. Incidentally, those were the second home runs for both Triunfel and Lo, and the first two doubles by Limonta. I have nothing on Peguero, who has six home runs now, but had none through April last year. Except, good job. Good job!

High Desert 2, Lake Elsinore 3 (SD 0)
RHP Jake Wild (4.66) allowed a run to score through four and two-thirds innings on five hits, three walks, and six Ks in four and two-thirds innings. A little less command than he usually shows (it’s hard not to pun), but effective nonetheless. RHP Marwin Vega (1.42) pitched the following inning and a third and had little going on there. RHP Cheyne Hann (2.08, BS) took it to the tenth, because he kind of blew it in the ninth, giving up a run on three hits and a K overall. In the eleventh, RHP Ryan Moorer (3.86, L) gave up a solo home run after recording one out and that was that.
1B Rich Poythress (2B, 2 RBI, .293) was the best the offense had to offer, with three hits in the game, one of them a double. 3B Nate Tenbrink (2B, R, .397) and DH Scott Savastano (SB, .265) both reached twice, Tenbrink with a hit and a free pass, Savastano with a pair of walks.

There was rain in Clinton. There is only so much we can do. It will be resumed tomorrow, and then they’ll get a seven-inning game in.
