West Tenn 5, Mobile 0 (ARI - 2)
Pitching! LHP Mauricio Robles (2.84, PO, W) one-hit the Baybears through six innings and struck out three! He also walked three. RHP Anthony Varvaro (3.12) did not walk anyone, as five of his six outs were Ks. Nor did RHP Josh Fields (1.59), who struck out two.
I think for hitting I’ll go against protocol and lead off with C Guillermo Quiroz (2 2B, R, RBI, .373), who had two doubles in the game. He’s twenty-eight though, so M’s broadcasts, you can stop using him in the Building to the Future segment. Otherwise, I’d have the player of the game be SS Carlos Triunfel (R, .265), because he had three singles and a walk. 1B Johan Limonta (R, RBI, .265) and DH Mike Wilson (RBI, .300) both reached three times, Limonta via singles and Wilson with a single and two walks. CF Kuo-hui Lo (.242), LF Carlos Peguero (R, .359), and 2B Dustin Ackley (SB, .145) were all on twice, with two hits, a hit and a walk, and two walks in descending order, and RF Joe Dunigan (2B, R, .167) had the team’s other extra-base hit. So that’s fourteen hits in all, and only five runs because there were fourteen stranded. Whatever, I’ll take it.

High Desert 2, Lancaster 6 (HOU - 5)
RHP Andrew Carraway (6.43, PO, L), getting the start after rain shortened his last outing, gave up five runs on ten hits and a balk against one K through four innings. RHP Ryan Moorer (2.70) pitched the next two and allowed two hits, while RHP Marwin Vega (2.16) allowed a solo home run and struck out a pair in the final two.
For the offense, there were two hits apiece from 2B Kyle Seager (R, .339) and 3B Nate Tenbrink (3B, R, RBI, 2 SB, .400), but not a whole lot else. On the plus side, Tenbrink is back to .400?
