Well, it’s usually the case that the stateside affiliates are all out for the All-Star Game. LHP Edlando Seco (3.86, W) proved that his model works so long as he only allows one hit. A run scored against him on that, plus three walks and a hit batter against four Ks in five innings. RHP Forrest Snow (0.00) stopped no-hitting everyone and gave up three hits and a walk this time out while striking out three in the same number of innings. RHP Austin Hudson (3.68, S) notched his second save with an uneventful ninth.
CF Ryan Royster (HR, 2 RBI, SB, .320) hit his second home run already and drew a walk as well. SS Anthony Phillips (PO, .215) added two walks, 3B Mickey Wiswall (2B, PO, .211) doubled, and LF Robbie Anston (2 R, .293) had two hits. Considering three were caught stealing and two were picked off, I think we had a bit of luck to win this one. The home run didn’t hurt though.
VSL Rays 6, Aguirre Mariners 5
RHP Ricardo Pereira (2.25) pitched six frames and let two runs (one earned) score after four hits, two hit batters, two walks, and three Ks. RHP Reynaldo Sabala (3.52, E, BS, L) then blew it by letting four score on six hits and two Ks in the last three innings.
DH Miguel Brito (2B, R, 2 RBI, .246) had two hits in the game, SS Roberto Velasquez (2B, R, SB, .304) and LF Reginald Lampe (2B, RBI, .308) both had doubles, and RF Jesus Ugueto (R, .313) and 1B Ivan Ramirez (R, RBI, .342) both had a hit and a walk.
Yamasa Mariners 6, DSL Athletics 3
RHP Ambioris Hidalgo (3.83) had three each of hits, walks, and Ks along with a hit batter in five frames of work. RHP Noel de la Cruz (4.66) pitched the next inning and two-thirds, giving up two runs (one earned) on a hit, a plunked batter, two walks, and a K, and then RHP Yunior de Jesus (1.90) came on, scoring one of de la Cruz’ runs and one of his own after two hits, two walks, and a K in the last two and a third innings.
1B Rudy van Heydoorn (.299), CF Janelfry Zorilla (2B, 3B, 3 R, RBI, .279), and DH Axel Wel (R, RBI, .170) all were on three times, van Heydoorn with a hit and two walks and the other two with a couple of hits and one walk. 2B George Soto (R, E, .193), C Miguel Sanchez (2B, R, RBI, .147), and LF Randy Perez (2 RBI, .262) all had a hit and a walk.
