SS Nick Franklin and RHP Michael Pineda both made the Baseball America Midseason All-Star Team. Yaaaaaay.

Portland 6 (SD - 19), Tacoma 11
LHP Ryan Feierabend (5.65) only mustered three innings and gave up the same number of runs on six hits, a wild pitch, a balk, and two walks against two Ks. He only threw sixty-six pitches. RHP Andy Baldwin (4.95, W) got the next three innings and let two runs (one earned) score on three hits and three Ks. RHP Joe Nelson (9.00) gave up one run over the next inning and a third after a hit, two walks, and a K. RHP Levale Speigner (5.57) struck out one in the final inning and two-thirds.
CF Gregory Halman (2 HR, 4 RBI, .243) may have bombed his way onto the Player of the Week listing, as he had another couple of home runs in this game. His only hits, but he’s up to seventeen dingers now. DH Brad Nelson (HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, .285) and RF Mike Wilson (HR, .258) also had home runs, as their only hits. 2B Jack Hannahan (R, RBI, .231) had three hits and a walk, 1B Matt Mangini (R, SB, E, .308) had a hit and two walks. Moving down to the twos, there was just C Adam Moore (3B, 2 R, 2 RBI, .431) and I think he’s probably just going to keep hitting. 3B Matt Tuiasosopo (2B, R, E, .343) had a double, and a an error. Reports are he’s looked bad on the field lately. And by lately, I mean all season.

Tennessee 9 (CHC + 1), West Tenn 0
Ow. RHP Steve Bray (3.82, L) let six runs score on ten hits (HR), a couple of walks, and a K in four and two-thirds of an inning. His old tricks do not appear to be working on a second tour of the league. RHP Luis Munoz (4.06) scored three of those and three more of his own after six hits (HR), a hit batter, three walks, and four Ks. RHP Steven Richard (15.43), back for another go at the league, walked one and struck out two over the last inning and a third.
1B Johan Limonta (.295) had three singles and 3B-C Leury Bonilla (.254) got two hits. I wonder if this is the year he talks the manager into letting him play all nine positions.

High Desert 10, Inland Empire 3 (LA - 3)
RHP Maikel Cleto (5.17, W) seemed to be pitching for the out more than the K, as he only struck out two in six innings, but he only allowed five hits and no runs. RHP Cheyne Hann (5.79) gave up a solo home run and two other hits while striking out one in the next inning, then LHP Brian Moran (18.00), getting his ticket to California, let two runs score on four hits in the eighth. RHP Marwin Vega (7.88) allowed two hits and a walk and struck out one in the ninth.
SS Kyle Seager (3B, R, 2 RBI, .326) and CF Denny Almonte (HR, 2 R, 3 RBI, A, E, .288) both had three hits in the game. Almonte’s thirteenth home run! LF Jake Shaffer (3B, RBI, .317), RF Johermyn Chavez (2B, R, RBI, .288), and C Trevor Coleman (2B, 2 R, 2 RBI, .219) all had two hits in the game and DH Dennis Raben (R, .376), 3B Eddy Martinez-Esteve (R, .365), and 1B Rich Poythress (2B, R, .282) all had a hit and a walk.

Clinton 3, Cedar Rapids 5 (ANA 0)
RHP Erasmo Ramirez (3.01, PO, 2 E, L) let five runs score on six hits, a walk, and two Ks in five and two-thirds innings. The past month or so for him hasn’t been all that special. RHP Jorden Merry (5.87), back in Clinton again, had a hit, two walks, and a K in the next inning of work. I hope he’s getting the mmiles. RHP Daniel Cooper (4.91) struck out two over the final inning and a third.
LF Matt Cerione (HR, .235) hit his third home run of the season while hitting eighth. 2B Luis Nunez (RBI, SB, E, .405) and C Henry Contreras (2B, 2 R, .375) both had two hits in the game and 1B Tim Morris (CS, .324) had a single and a walk. Can’t really expect to win with five errors.

Salem-Keizer 6 (SF - 3), Everett 8
Yup. Normalcy is pretty sweet. LHP Edlando Seco (5.84) gave up four runs on four hits, a hit batter, and four walks against a K. That’s normal. RHP Chris Kessinger (7.88, W) let two more runs score on a hit, a wild pitch, a hit batter, four walks, and a couple of Ks. LHP Jason Markovitz (2.08) pitched the last three innings and allowed one hit and struck out three.
Home runs were a feature of this game, as DH Jimmy Jacquot (HR, 4 RBI, .257), 1B Evan Sharpley (HR, .250), and 2B Fred Bello (3B, HR, 2 R, .160) all had one, Bello as one of two hits. He also had a walk. Jimmy’s second jack was a grand slam in the third. LF Robbie Anston (2 R, RBI, 2 SB, .317) had two hits and a walk and C Steve Baron (2B, PO, .188) had a double and a walk.

Pulaski 1, Kingston 13 (NYM - 5)
Ow. OWW. RHP Nolan Diaz (10.66, L) let eight runs (six earned) score on eleven hits (2 HR!), a hit batter, two walks, and a K in four innings. LHP Bennett Whitmore (15.00) let five runs score on nine hits and three Ks in the next three+ innings. That was his pro debut. RHP Bryan Leigh (0.00) had two hits allowed and a K in the eighth, and scored one of Whitmore’s runs.
3B Ramon Morla (HR, .395) hit his third home run of the season and DH Andrew Giobbi (2B, .500) had two hits, which included his first pro double.

Peoria Mariners 6, AZL Angels 2 (ten innings)
RHP Tom Wilhelmsen (0.00) gave up one hit and struck out six in three innings of work. Yeah, I think he’s ready to move up. The Ks continued for a while, as RHP Jeroen de Haas (4.50) had a walk and three Ks in the next two innings and RHP Jarett Attard (1.80) also had three strikeouts in the two innings following that, but he also gave up a run on four hits. RHP Michael Aviles (12.79) scored that with two hits and a K in the next two-thirds of an inning, and RHP Jandy Sena (2.08) gave up a run on two hits, a walk, and a K over the next two and a third innings, but held it there long enough to let the offense do its thing.
So, the winning runs. Robert Rodriguez came in as a pinch-hitter and got a single, then Ramirez bunted him to second and Morales got on via an error, which put runners on the corner. Rangel walked to load the bases and then1B Ji-Man Choi (2B, 2 R, 3 RBI, 2-5, .522) wiped ‘em clean with a double. A strikeout later, he was driven in on a single by LF Guillermo Pimentel (2B, 2 RBI, 3-5, .303). Concerning the rehabbers, Royster was 0-for-3 with a walk before Rodriguez came in and RF Joe Dunigan (3B, .455) had two hits before Rangel took over. 3B Matt Browning (R, .217) had a single and a walk.

VSL Phillies 3, Aguirre Mariners 2 (seven innings)
They played this one its entirety and then the second game of the DH was rained out. Better luck next time. RHP Ivan Julio (2.08, L) lost it after letting three runs score on a hit, a wild pitch, a hit batter, and four walks against two Ks. RHP Angel Raga (3.44) had a hit, a walk, and four Ks in the last four frames.
DH Felipe Burin (.346), C Ivan Ramirez (.357), 1B Reginald Lampe (R, RBI, .333), and SS Roberto Velasquez (.329) all had two hits in the game. No extra-bases, no walks.

DSL Athletics 4, Yamasa Mariners 7
RHP Joan Vizcaino (2.31) gave up a run on two hits, a wild pitch, and four walks against two Ks. RHP Gregorio Aquino (7.59, W) then pitched another two and a third innings, with a pair of runs (one earned) plating after three walks, a wild pitch, and a K. Rounding out the group was LHP Leoncio Munoz (3.24, S), who let one last run score after two hits (HR), two walks, and a K. That’s a 4/9 K/BB for the winning team and a 10/4 K/BB for the losing one. DSL BASEBALL!
3B Jordy Lara (R, 2 E, .163) walked three times. Put that in context of the team, if you will. 1B Bertin Sanon (2B, R, RBI, .222), CF Janelfry Zorilla (2B, R, 2 RBI, SB, .256), and SS Noe Berro (2B, R, .179) all had two hits, and LF George Drullard (3B, 2 R, RBI, .200) had a triple and a walk. Berro has really slumped since the first week or so of the season.
