Tacoma 4, Portland 2 (SD - 19)
RHP Doug Fister (4.50) got a rehab start, throwing forty-eight pitches to get through four innings, while allowing two runs to score on four hits and three Ks. I wonder what percentage of those were fastballs. LHP Chris Seddon (3.43) had the same totals minus the runs in the final five innings.
3B Matt Mangini (R, RBI, .315) had a couple of hits in the game and 2B Jack Hannahan (2B, .220) and C Josh Bard (2B, R, .227) both had doubles, with Hannahan adding a walk.
Clinton 3, Beloit 4 (MIN + 5)
RHP Taylor Stanton (3.77, L) gave up four runs on seven hits, two walks, and three Ks in five innings. Again, I’ll blame the walks. LHP Brian Moran (1.49, E) had a hit, a walk, and three Ks in the next two innings, and RHP Daniel Cooper (5.34) had a hit and a two Ks in the eighth.
CF Daniel Carroll (2 2B, 2 RBI, .269) had three hits, including two doubles. Doubles! From Carroll! To put that in context, those were his second and third doubles of the year. 1B Tim Morris (.269) had a single and two walks, RF James Jones (3B, 2 R, .205) had two hits after being moved down in the order, and DH Kalian Sams (2B, R, .188) had a double and struck out his three other times at the plate.
Everett 7, Salem-Keizer 6 (SF - 3) (ten innings)
This was certainly a wild ride. RHP Eric Thomas (3.60, PO) let two runs score after eight hits, two wild pitches, a couple of walks, and three Ks in five innings, which is roughly what I would have expected. LHP Forrest Snow (0.00) walked a pair and struck out one in the next inning, then RHP Willy Kesler (4.50) took over for two innings and let a run score on two hits, a walk, and a strikeout. A little nerve-wracking, but not nearly as much as RHP Chris Kessinger (13.50, BS, W) letting three score on three hits, a hit batter, and a walk against one K in the final two innings. Fortunately, he got the win after the rally.
And that rally? Not much to write about, really, save that 1B-3B Kevin Mailloux (HR, 3 R, 2 RBI, .444), who had two hits and a walk in the game, homered. 2B Fred Bello (RBI, SB, .500) had two hits and a walk, DH Kevin Rivers (2B, R, .250) doubled and is missing a single for a cycle spread across his first three games, and CF Dwight Britton (2B, R, .214) and LF Robert Anston (SB, CS, .286) both had a hit and a walk.
Aguirre Mariners 5, VSL Reds 3 (seven innings)
They got one game of the DH in. RHP Angel Raga (4.88) gave up two runs on three hits (HR), a walk, two wild pitches, and three Ks in three and a third innings. RHP Maikol Guaipe (3.91, W) gave up one run in the last three and two-thirds innings on a hit and a wild pitch, that hit being a triple, against three Ks.
C Ricardo Gonzalez (HR, 3 RBI, .136) had both a home run and a walk, good signs on both accounts. LF Michael Acevedo (.314) and RF Alexy Palma (R, .306) also had hit and a walk and DH Ivan Ramirez (R, RBI, .348) had two singles, while SS Roberto Velasquez (2B, R, RBI, SB, .313) added a double.
