I delayed posting last night because I knew that there were server issues that they were trying to resolve and that the post I had wouldn’t make it into the snapshot before things went down. The bad news is that there are still server issues and this might disappear. But hey, at least we’re up again.

Salt Lake 2 (ANA - 2), Tacoma 3 (seven innings)
Huzzah! LHP Ryan Feierabend (5.26, PO, W) pitched the whole seven innings and gave up two runs on six hits and three Ks. Progress! Ks would be nice too. INNINGS!
C Josh Bard (2B, .234) and CF Gregory Halman (3B, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, .247) both had two hits in the game. You may be excited about both, but for different reasons. Halman has been hitting rather well this week.

Salt Lake 4 (- 3), Tacoma 7 (seven innings)
LHP Luke French (2.27, W) gave up two runs on six hits, a couple of wild pitches, a balk, a walk, and three Ks through six innings. INNINGS! RHP Joe Nelson (27.00), signed very recently, gave up two runs on four hits, a wild pitch, a walk, and a K in the next two-thirds before RHP Scott Patterson (3.38, S) struck out the final batter.
3B Matt Mangini (2B, 3B, R, 3 RBI, .318) busted out three hits in the game, a home run away from the cycle. LF Matt Tuiasosopo (2B, 2 RBI, .349) and DH David Winfree (2B, R, RBI, .369) both doubled.

West Tenn 11, Montgomery 1 (TB - 1)
That’s better. RHP Jarrett Grube (1.29) let the one run score on a solo shot and gave up two other hits, two more walks, and struck out seven in the same number of innings. LHP Nick Hill (10.00) walked two in the next inning and RHP Anthony Varvaro (2.64) allowed a hit and rung up one in the ninth.
DH Dustin Ackley (HR, 3 RBI, 1-5, BB, .250) and LF Nate Tenbrink (2B, HR, 2 R, 4 RBI, 3-4, .296) both went deep for their second home runs at the double-A level. Well, Ackley has been around longer. 2B Leury Bonilla (R, .223) had a hit and two walks, CF Brandon Haveman (RBI, .299), 1B Johan Limonta (3B, 2 R, .299) and C Ralph Henriquez (2B, R, 3 RBI, .370) each had two hits, 3B Alex Liddi (2B, R, .290) had a double and a walk, and RF Carlos Peguero (2 R, .296) contributed two walks.

The bad news is that I goofed and the Cal League started up again. The good news, for me at least, is that the game was suspended in the third, after some lights on the outfield went out. They’ll resume tomorrow.

Yakima 4 (ARI – 5), Everett 5
LHP Anthony Fernandez (2.70, W) got his second win, giving up three runs on four hits, a wild pitch, a walk, and four Ks in the first five innings. The last four were split between RHP Willy Kesler (2.25), who let an unearned run score on a hit and struck out three, and RHP Chris Kessinger (6.75), who walked one and struck out three.
RF Kevin Rivers (R, .385) notched three hits in the game, while C Steve Baron (3B, R, RBI, PB, .227) tripled, and LF Robbie Anston (2B, RBI, .250) and SS Anthony Phillips (2B, R, RBI, .211) both had doubles, Anston adding a walk. CF Jose Rivero (R, 2 RBI, .238) had a single and a walk. I don’t know that I’d want Rivero in center over him, but I’ve not seen them side-by-side in that way.

Bluefield 4 (BAL - 1), Pulaski 5
RHP George Mieses (4.50) through six frames gave up four runs (three earned) after three hits (HR), a hit batter, a pair of walks, and struck out six. RHP Tim Boyce (0.00, W) then had a mighty pro debut, stiking out seven of the nine batters he faced and grounding out the other two. Not bad, for a 44th rounder.
Doubles were the defining feature of much of the offense’s production, as 2B Jetsy Extrano (2B, R, RBI, .214), 3B Ramon Morla (2B, RBI, E, .700), RF James Wood (2B, R, .500), and LF Jorge Agudelo (2B, R, 2 RBI, .364) all had them, Wood as one of two hits, Morla and Agudelo accompanying theirs with a walk. CF Mario Yepez (.250) was 2-for-4 batting second in the lineup.

Peoria Mariners 5, AZL Royals 8
Piggyback start situation, it seems. RHP Jeroen de Haas (4.50, L) gave up six runs (two earned) on eight hits, a plunked batter and two Ks through the first four innings, and RHP Dylan Unsworth (4.50) had two runs score on five hits and five Ks in the last four innings.
CF Alfredo Morales (2B, 3B, 2 R, 2 RBI, .571) came up a home run shy of the cycle. He seems be pretty good. 3B Matt Browning (2B, RBI, .250) added a double.

VSL Tigers 1, Aguirre Mariners 5
RHP Vicente Campos (2.15, E, W) had what I would call a weird start for him, giving up a run on seven hits, a balk, a walk, and a K in five innings. One strikeout. Yes. That’s the weird part. RHP Mayckol Guaipe (3.33, S) allowed three hits, hit one, and struck out two in the last four innings for a save. Four-inning save!
RF Alexy Palma (2 2B, 2 R, RBI, .308) had two doubles and two walks in the game. I kind of wish he was in Peoria instead. LF Kenny Hart (R, RBI, .278) also had two hits and on either side of them, C Ivan Ramirez (2B, R, .340) and 3B Miguel Brito (2B, R, RBI, E, .253) both had doubles.

Yamasa Mariners 3, DSL Brewers 2 (twelve innings)
So much for a leisurely doubleheader. RHP Ambioris Hidalgo (2.88, E) pitched the first six innings, with two unearned runs scoring on three hits, a hit batter, two walks, and five Ks. RHP Augusto Marte (36.00) had two walks, a wild pitch, and two Ks in the next frame of work. In the last five innings, LPH Brandol Perez (0.00, W) pitched like Henry, logging five perfect innings and striking out eight. He’s only sixteen and already 6’4, so I’ll admit to being intrigued there even if he’s probably just a change-up artist.
DH George Soto (HR, .242) had two hits in the game, including his second home run, and LF Janelfry Zorilla (2B, R, .220) had his third double. Beyond the extra-base stuff, RF Efrain Nunez (CS, E, .140) walked twice and C Ivan Brea (.195) had a single and a walk. Zorilla’s double opened the twelfth, and he moved to third on a passed ball before scoring on a sac fly by Lara. Van Heydoorn and Brea then got singles, and errors led Brea to move to third while van Heydoorn was thrown out at home. I think the play was a bit too ambitious.

Yamasa Mariners 3, DSL Brewers 7 (six innings)
Not what I was hoping for. RHP Jochi Ogando (3.44, L) gave up four runs through three innings after four hits (HR) and four walks, and also a hit batter. No strikeouts. RHP Enrique Rosario 96.35) scored three runs (one earned) after three hits, a wild pitch, a walk, and three Ks in two innings of work and then the weather decided it was time to put baseball to rest for the day.
C Rudy van Heydoorn (2B, .358) and 3B Jose Matias (2B, R, 2 RBI, E, .321) both doubled, LF George Drullard (R, E, .171) had a single and a walk, and DH Axel Wel (R, CS, .200) had a couple of walk.s
