Updates, again, brought to you by the King County Library System.

Oklahoma City 2 (TEX + 5), Tacoma 1 (seven innings)
This would be the completion of the Wednesday game. So, pre-rain, RHP David Pauley (3.38) pitched four innings and did a pretty darned good job of it, allowing a run to score on four hits, two walks, and eight Ks. Post-rain, LHP Garrett Olson (3.38, L) let the winning run score on two hits (HR), two walks, and three Ks. RHP Chad Cordero (4.58) struck out one in the seventh.
The offense had to go up against Tanner Scheppers in the completion and managed only one walk while striking out seven times. So there was that. 3B Matt Mangini (HR, .291) had a home run and that’s all I have. Carp played left field and had an assist. That’s odd.

Oklahoma City 6 (+ 6), Tacoma 2 (seven innings)
LHP Luke French (1.75, L) had his luck catch up with him, sort of, as he had five runs score  (only two earned) on five hits, a couple of walks, and a K in five frames of work. RHP Levale Speigner (8.20) let a run score on two hits in the sixth and RHP Mike Koplove (4.91) walked one in the seventh.
Again playing the outfield, LF Mike Carp (RBI, .237) had three hits in the game, though all were singles. Reaching twice were 1B Brad Nelson (E, .295) with two walks, DH Tommy Everidge (R, .253) with a single and a walk, and C Guillermo Quiroz (RBI, PB, E, .273) with two singles. No one had more than a single in game two.

West Tenn 7, Carolina 4 (CIN - 3)
RHP Michael Pineda (2.32, W) picked up his fourth win of the season, going six innings and letting three runs (two earned) score after five hits, a hit batter, two walks, and five Ks. All the runs scored in the fourth when there was an error, a walk, a double, and a single all in quick succession. On the plus side, he ran a 9/3 ground/fly, which is a bit unusual for him. RHP Aaron Jensen (4.05) let a run score on two hits, a hit batter, and two Ks in the next two innings and then RHP Josh Fields (3.91, S) allowed two hits in the ninth.
RF Scott Savastano (2B, 2 R, .300) reached four times as the number nine hitter, with two hits and two walks in the game. CF Kuo-hui Lo (R, .248) added three singles leading off. 3B Alex Liddi (2B, 2 RBI, 2 E, .273), C Jose Yepez (2B, R, .314), and 2B Dustin Ackley (2B, RBI, E, .204) all had a double and reached twice, Ackley and Liddi doing it with a hit and a walk, Yepez getting an extra single. I’m a little concerned about Liddi’s defense right now as he’s up to fourteen errors. DH Carlos Peguero (2B, R, 2 RBI, .304) and 1B Johan Limonta (HR, 2 RBI, .304) both had extra-base hits. It was the fifth home run for Limonta. I had hoped to have a better update on Tenbrink, but unfortunately he was hit in the head by a pitch in the second inning and rushed to the hospital, where he was later released. At least he never lost consciousness.

I don't see anything suggesting Tenbrink is on the DL, at least not yet, but Jake Shaffer was called up from High Desert, as was Travis Scott, as Oliveros has a strained shoulder.  Jake Wild and Ryan Feierabend also traded places.  There weren't any corresponding promotions because the Mavs just activated Mendez from the DL.  They will, however, be playing without a backup catcherm at least for a day or so.

Modesto 10 (COL + 4), High Desert 6
Aw Nuts. LHP Anthony Vasquez (4.15, L) apparently realized where he was pitching because he gave up eight runs (six earned) on ten hits (HR) and five Ks in five innings. At least he didn’t walk anyone? RHP Cheyne Hann (5.47) struck out one in the sixth, and then RHP Ryan Moorer (7.80) gave up a couple more runs after two hits and a walk in the seventh. LHP Nick Czyz (4.37) struck out two and was perfect through the last two frames.
RF Johermyn Chavez (R, RBI, 2 E, .304) had three hits in the game, but they were all singles. You have to go to the two-hit guys to get the extra bases (and decent defense), and those were 3B Edilio Colina (2B, R, .336), LF (yes, LF) Dennis Raben (2 R, .571), CF Denny Almonte (3B, 3 RBI, .304), and C Trevor Coleman (2B, 2 RBI, .198). 2B Kyle Seager (E, .314) and 1B Rich Poythress (2 R, .288) both had a hit, a walk, and a K.

Burlington 5 (KC - 16), Clinton 6 (seven innings)
RHP Taylor Lewis (3.38, W) started game one of the DH and gave up five runs on nine hits (HR), two walks, and a K in six innings. Strangely, that was enough to win with the bats rallying. More strangely, Lewis has walked two and struck out two or fewer in each of his three starts. LHP Jose Jimenez (1.69) gave up a hit in the seventh and was promptly pulled in favor of RHP Brandon Josselyn (2.95, S), who struck out one on his way to the save.
1B Tim Morris (2 R, .500) and SS Gabriel Noriega (HR, 2 R, .213), not the likeliest pairing I’d have in here, both had two hits including a home run, with Noriega drawing a walk. CF Daniel Carroll (R, RBI, .312) had three singles leading off and RF James Jones (2B, RBI, .210) had a double.   The rally in sixth was all singles, as Morris had one and advanced on a wild pitch, then the next two guys got themselves out before three consecutive singles (and a little help via throwing error) for Bantz, Noriega, and Carroll.

Burlington 2 (- 15), Clinton 1 (seven innings)
BEES. LHP Jonathan Hesketh (5.80, L) let both runs score in five innings after three hits, four walks, and four Ks. That’s unusually bad command for him. LHP Jose Jimenez (1.50), who had only thrown a few pitches in the previous game, allowed a hit and struck out one in the final two innings.
RF James Jones (SB, .214) had a hit and a walk. That’s all.

VSL Tigers 4, Aguirre Mariners 2
RHP Daniel Mata (3.68, PO) got another start, giving up a run on nine hits, a walk, and a pair of Ks in four and a third innings. RHP Ivan Julio (0.00) had two walks, a wild pitch, and two Ks in the next two and two-thirds, then RHP Maykel Ynfantes (7.36, BS) let a run score on three hits in the eighth. For the ninth, RHP Ricardo Pereira (4.50, L) had two more score on two hits, a walk, and a K.
SS Felipe Burin (2B, RBI, .385) continues to impress, going 2-for-2 with two walks in this one. DH Ivan Ramirez (.250) had two hits and one walk, 3B Miguel Brito (E, .143) settled for the two hits, and RF Alexy Palma (2B, R, .364) hit his second double.
