Tacoma 7, Fresno 10 (SF + 7)
RHP Blake Beavan (6.47) pitched five and a third innings and had five runs (three earned) score against him after eight hits (HR), a wild pitch, a hit batter, a walk, and four Ks. At least there were strikeouts? RHP Scott Patterson (2.76, BS) had a run score on solo shot along with another hit in the next inning and a third. RHP Josh Lueke (2.08), pitching on consecutive nights, had two hits, two walks, and two Ks in the next two and a third innings. RHP Dan Cortes (5.40, L) given enough time, let’s say, two and two-thirds innings, had three runs score against him on three hits, two walks, a hit batter, and two Ks, with RHP Anthony Varvaro (5.40, BS) giving up the decisive, walk-off grand slam because that’s just how things have been going of late. Salt Lake City is a half game behind. HELP.
1B Mike Carp (2 HR, 3 RBI, .256) had three hits in the game including two dingers which puts him one away from hitting thirty home runs this season. I have no words. LF Mike Wilson (HR, 3 RBI, .273) had two hits, which included his seventeenth dinger. Dingers! 2B Dustin Ackley (R, .275) also had two hits and RF David Winfree (R, E, .319) and CF Gregory Halman (2B, R, .246) both had a hit and a walk.

Chattanooga 7 (LA - 3), West Tenn 8
Playoff spot clinched. RHP Steve Bray (5.50) couldn’t get it to work for him this time out, letting seven runs (six earned) score on eight hits and a K in three and two-thirds innings. RHP Aaron Jensen (4.47), despite scoring one of Bray’s runs, kept any further runs from scoring despite five hits and two Ks in two and a third innings. RHP Wes Littleton (6.85, W) also kept it scoreless, with a hit, a hit batter, a walk, and four Ks to his name in the next three innings.
3B Alex Liddi (HR, 3 R, 2 RBI, .275) and RF Scott Savastano (2 2B, R, 2 RBI, SB, .279) both had three hits in the game, with Savastano adding a walk. Fifteenth home run for Liddi. LF Carlos Peguero (2 RBI, .256) had two singles and two walks. How about that. SS Carlos Triunfel (.257) also had two hits batting ninth, but no walks. He didn’t walk the entire month of July. Just so you know. On the positive end of things, he did serve a part in the ninth inning festivities when the Jaxx scored three runs. He was hit by a pitch to open the inning, then Lawson singled and Renbrink grounded into a force that got the lead runner, but no one else. Liddi singled to drive in Lawson, and after Limonta moved everyone up on a groundout, Savastano was walked intentionally and Peguero hit a single which, with the fielding error, scored the necessary two runs.

High Desert 2, Lake Elsinore 7 (SD + 3)
Arg. RHP Andrew Carraway (5.33, L) had five runs (four earned) score against him on eight hits, a wild pitch, a balk, two walks, and seven Ks in five innings. RHP Ogui Diaz (9.00), who was up from Everett, let two runs score in the same number of innings on three hits (HR) and a K in the next two innings and then RHP Cheyne Hann (6.79) had a hit and a K in the eighth.
3B Kyle Seager (2B, R, RBI, .345) batted third again and had another two hits.

Beloit 4 (MIN + 3), Clinton 5
Before the rain, LHP Nick Czyz (4.61) gave up a solo home run and struck out one in an inning and a third. In the resumption of the game, RHP Tom Wilhelmsen (2.23, W) threw six and two-thirds innings and let three runs (two earned) score on five hits (HR) and a walk against seven Ks to get his sixth level. RHP Forrest Snow (0.93, S) hit one and struck out one in the ninth.
1B Mickey Wiswall (2B, 2 R, RBI, .303) had three hits in the game and RF James Jones (R, .274) and C Blake Ochoa (2B, .276) both had a hit and a walk.

Beloit 8 (+ 4), Clinton 2 (seven innings)
This game was not so happy. RHP Jonathan Arias (4.09, L) pitched four innings and had a couple of runs score against him on three hits, a wild pitch, and three walks against one Ks. RHP Fray Martinez (10.50) only needed two-thirds of an inning to get his two runs on two hits, a wild pitch, a walk, and a K, though RHP Brandon Josselyn (4.53) scored one of them with a hit and a K in an inning and a third. RHP Nolan Gallagher (6.00) allowed two hits, threw a wild pitch, and handed out three free passes without recording an out, and RHP Stephen Pryor (4.20) scored two of those because he gave up a hit and threw a wild pitch before striking out the side.
DH Mickey Wiswall (2 2B, RBI, .312) had two doubles in the game, and already has twelve with the Lumberkings, 3B Vinnie Catricala (HR, 2 R, .304) had a home run, his seventeenth, and a walk, and CF Matt Cerione (.292) drew two walks. Cat still has five fewer home runs than Franklin, who still has a chance to break that record.

Everett 0, Vancouver 1 (OAK + 14)
This was surely and eventful game. RHP Chris Sorce (3.64) only pitched one inning and allowed a hit before getting the hook. He was apparently only scheduled for one inning? RHP Jandy Sena (1.80, L) pitched the next five innings, letting a run score on three hits, a walk, a wild pitch, and six Ks. That was all the offense needed though. LHP Bennett Whitmore (3.68) struck out one in the seventh and RHP Willy Kesler (1.47) had a hit and a walk in the eighth.
C Steve Baron (2B, .247) doubled and 3B Terry Serrano (.309) had a single and a walk. Sharpley was the one who struck out four times here.
