22 August 2011
LHP Nate Robertson (6.43, PO, L) let four runs plate on nine hits (HR), two walks, and two Ks in six and two-thirds innings. RHP Steve Delabar (0.00) had a hit, a walk, and a K in the final frame and a third. Delabar hasn't let a run score since becoming a Rainier.
LF Greg Halman (R, SB, .317) was the leadoff man and walked twice. It's too late in the season to be surprised by things. 3B Alex Liddi (2B, R, .256) and RF Mike Wilson (2B, .327) both doubled, CF Michael Saunders (RBI, CS, .298) had two hits, and C Jose Yepez (.321) had a single and a walk.
Jackson 2, Mobile 3 (ARI + 21)
RHP Andrew Carraway (3.55, L) took the loss after giving up two runs on seven hits, a hit batter, and four Ks in five and two-thirds innings. RHP Daniel Cooper (6.52) then let another run plate on two hits and a walk in the next inning and a third. LHP Bobby LaFromboise (3.46) struck out two in the eighth.
There was a failed rally in the ninth that scored the two runs. I'm not too into despair at the moment, so I'll let you figure that one out for yourself. RF Chih-Hsien Chiang (2B, 2 RBI, .205) had a double, CF Kuo -hui Lo (.250) had two singles, and 1B Scott Savastano (R, .292) had a single and a walk.
High Desert 3, San Jose 4 (SF + 7)
RHP Taylor Stanton (5.32, E) had another long outing, this time going eight innings and letting a run score on six hits, three walks, and six Ks. LHP Jose Jimenez (6.41, E, L) had three unearned runs score against him after a hit and a walk and only one out, and RHP Stephen Kahn (7.13, BS) struck out one more on the way to blowing it with two hits scoring two runs against Jimenez.
DH Joe Dunigan (HR, 2 RBI, .207) had a home run and struck out three times. He has some of the numbers but not all of them are good. 2B Matt Browning (.269) had three singles and CF Denny Almonte (2B, R, CS, .273) and SS Shaver Hansen (R, RBI, .293) both had two hits.
Kane County 1 (KC + 9), Clinton 7
Reversal! Game gained! RHP Carter Capps (3.72, W) got his first pro win, pitching five innings with a run scoring on four hits, a hit batter, three walks, and five Ks. RHP John Taylor (6.75) then walked three and struck out three in the next two and a third innings and RHP Tyler Burgoon (2.40) struck out a pair in the final inning and two-thirds.
LF Kevin Rivers (2 R, RBI, SB, .255) reached four times with three hits and a walk. That's something on its own. 3B Carlos Ramitez (HR, .241) and RF Kalian Sams (.238) both had solo home runs. DH Stefen Romero (2B, R, 2 RBI, .275), SS Brad Miller, and C John Hicks (R, RBI, .255) all had two hits, with Hicks and Romero drawing walks.
Eugene 2 (SD + 2), Everett 8
RHP Jordan Pries (3.26, E, W) gave up two runs on three hits, a wild pitch, two walks, and eight Ks, which is pretty good I'd say. RHP Nolan Diaz (6.49) had a hit, a walk, and two Ks in the next two-thirds and LHP Kyle Hunter (0.59, S) had a hit and four Ks in the final three.
DH James Wood (2 HR, 3 RBI, .264) hit two dingers which is not something that we've seen often from this team this season. RF Mario Yepez (R, RBI, CS, .332) and 1B Ethan Paquette (R, .246) both had two hits with Yepez drawing a walk, 2B Marcus Littlewood (2 R, RBI, .237) walked twice, and LF Jabari Blash (2 RBI, .282) and C Larry Gonzalez (2B, R, .237) both had a hit and a walk.
Pulaski 2, Bluefield 9 (TOR + 13)
The novelty has worn off, let's move on to other things. RHP Ambioris Hidalgo (4.85, L) took the loss after letting seven runs (six earned) score on seven hits (HR), four walks, and four Ks in four and a third innings. RHP Brett Shankin (6.75) had two more score on a hit and three walks in the next frame and two-thirds. RHP Bobby Shore (3.52) and RHP Joshua Corrales (0.00) split the final two innings with Shore allowing a hit and Corrales striking out one.
C Jose Hernandez (.205) had two singles and SS Dillon Hazlett (2B, .228) doubled and walked.
Peoria Mariners 6, AZL Cubs 5 (eleven innings)
RHP Charles Kaalehahi (5.40) pitched five innings and let three plate on seven hits, a wild pitch, a walk, and four Ks. RHP David Holman (5.27) had a walk and two Ks in the next two innings and then RHP Yunior de Jesus (3.52, BS, W) had some trouble with a run scoring on two hits and a hit batter in three frames of work. RHP Alex Sunderland (5.40, S) had similar totals, minus two innings and the hit batter.
The rally in the eleventh was all with two outs, CF James Zamarripa (R, CS, E, 2-5, .274) reaching on error followed by consecutive singles from 3B Yidid Batista (R, E, 1-5, BB, .303), Burin, and DH Angel Salome (2 2B, 2 R, RBI, 5-6, .366). There were also two hits apiece from LF Phillips Castillo (2 2B, R, RBI, .312) and C Luke Guarnaccia (CS, .250) both had two hits, with Guarnaccia adding a walk, and 1B Jose Martinez (2B, E, .271) had a double and a walk.
