Tacoma 5, Oklahoma City 10 (HOU - 2)
I heard an amusing story on the radio today about Mike Wilson requesting extra tickets for his family and friends for this series. Of course, that was far more interesting than this game. LHP Chris Seddon (5.03, L) gave up six in the same number of innings after seven hits (HR), three walks, and three Ks. That scoreless inning streak is a distant memory now. RHP Denny Bautista (7.80) and LHP Edward Paredes (11.37) both gave up two runs in an inning of work, Bautista on two hits, two walks, and a K, Paredes on three hits, two of which left the yard. There was some discussion of who was next in line when the Mariners needed a 40-man spot, and Paredes has been brought up frequently. Initially, I thought of defending him, what with him being a triple-A left-handed reliever and Moran struggling, but realistically, with the way this season has been going for him, there is nothing that I am capable of saying to defend him.
RF Johan Limonta (.380) had three singles and a walk. I seem to remember similar hitting out of him when he first got to double-A, but that was a long time ago. 2B Dustin Ackley (2B, R, RBI, .237), LF Mike Carp (2B, R, RBI, .269), C Josh Bard (R, 2 RBI, .306), and CF Brandon Haveman (RBI, .250) all had two hits, with Carp adding two walks and Ackley and Bard adding one walk. Haveman decided to be different. 3B Alex Liddi (2B, 2 R, .236) doubled and walked.

Jackson 5, Mississippi 3 (ATL - 8)
So maybe there was a run more than what was expected. RHP Jarrett Grube (3.13, W) gave up three runs on seven hits (HR), a wild pitch, a balk, and five Ks through seven frames. RHP Stephen Penney (2.51) then struck out one in the eighth and RHP Scott Patterson (1.96, S) allowed a hit in the ninth.
SS Carlos Triunfel (HR, SB, .292) had three hits and went yard for the third time this year. He'll probably break his career high in home runs at the current rate. 3B Scott Savastano (2B, R, .224) and C Ralph Henriquez (2B, 2 RBI, .259) both had a couple of hits, and 2B Kyle Seager (2B, 2 R, .321) doubled.

Lake Elsinore 8 (SD - 8), High Desert 3
Perhaps this is the wrong time to mention that last week, LHP Nick Czyz (7.33, L) was Cal League Pitcher of the Week. In this game, he let six runs score on eight hits (2 HR!), a hit batter, two walks, and six Ks. RHP Daniel Cooper (4.67) struck out four in the next two innings, and then RHP Willy Kesler (9.00) got introduced to the league with two runs on four hits, three walks, and two Ks. Fun.
RF Daniel Carroll (2B, RBI, CS, .331), C Andrew Giobbi (2B, R, .275), and SS Gabriel Noriega (2B, R, RBI, .221) all had doubles. There wasn't much else going for the offense. LF Vinnie Catricala (.356) added a single and a walk.

Clinton 7, Quad Cities 8 (STL - 2)
I didn't have a chance to listen to any of this one, so someone else will have to provide specifics. What I can tell you is that RHP Taijuan Walker (9.95, L) let three score on five hits, a balk, three walks, and four Ks in two and a third innings. RHP Steve Kohlscheen (5.63) followed with two and two-thirds innings, three runs scoring on four hits (HR), a wild pitch, and three Ks. He also had the only flyball out? RHP Jonathan Arias (14.29) gave up a pair of runs over an inning+ on two hits, a wild pitch, a walk, and a strikeout, and RHP Jandy Sena (0.00) scored two of those in the final two frames and had a hit, a wild pitch, and two walks overall. So this was sort of like the Mariners game tonight but ultimately less interesting.
LF Mickey Wiswall (2B, R, RBI, 2 A, .228) reached four times tonight with two hits and two walks and two throws to get runners trying to stretch out singles. CF Robbie Anston (R, RBI, .500) was up to second in the order and collected three hits on the evening. DH Tim Morris (2B, HR, 2 R, 2 RBI, .320) had two hits, which included his second home run of the season, 3B Stefen Romero (R, ECS, .209) and RF Jabari Blash (R, .179) both walked twice, and SS Jack Schlander (2B, 3 RBI, .250) doubled to clear the bases in the sixth.
